The huge difference between people with Type 1 diabetes versus Type 2 is the fact that those folks with Type 1 are resistant to insulin and aren’t in a position to produce it naturally….at all. They are also considered to have a kind of autoimmune illness because their body disables their own defenses of the cells that are needed to produce said insulin.
However the difference is that for people with Type 2, the insulin is either not enough or the body simply ignores it and isn’t correctly used because they are resistant to it also.

Being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes can be awfully frightening, but it is’s not the end of the Earth as it can be cured naturally. It’s critically crucial that you arm yourself with as much information as practicable to not only cure diabetes, but also to prevent it in the future and help out those around you who may be showing signs and symptoms.
When it all comes down to which type of diabetes is worse, it would appear that Type 1 not only gets the proposal, but also wins the award as well! Most people with Diabetes think that they’re stuck with the condition for life and that there’s not anything that they can do about it. The good news is that they are wrong! Diabetes can be cured thru diet and exercise and I have personally witnessed folk completely go off their medicine simply by making major changes to their daily habits.

Type 2 Diabetes Treatment Tips

Type 2 Diabetes is the most common form of Diabetes. Although this is a chronic disease that can lead to other more serious, and sometimes life-threatening illnesses and diseases, there are treatments that work successfully in the prevention and management of the disease.

Type 2 diabetes is easy to cure and manage than type 1 because in type 1 diabetes the patient’s body fails to produce the required amount of insulin, so much so that no insulin is produced. Hence, the patient has to regularly provide external insulin to the ailing body. This is a difficult situation to handle rather than the conditions type 2 patients have to deal with.

They will have to learn that the diet should comprise of 55-60% carbohydrates. That the best carbohydrates should be complex carbohydrates like pasta, porridge and potatoes.

Rosiglitazone – This medication is taken orally and is known to increase good cholesterol (HDL). However, its use presents the possible risks of heart attack, swelling, weight gain, liver problems, increase in bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides.

Although they are different types of diabetes, natural diabetes treatment is able to suit both conditions. Natural diabetes treatment is a form of naturopathy. It is an alternative medical system which focuses on the natural systems of treatment and the body’s ability to heal and maintain itself. Naturopathy comprises of a new healthy lifestyle which favors a balanced diet and adequate exercise.

Small sensors implanted under the skin can communicate current blood glucose levels with a small, hand held device. The device must be kept within a short distance of the implant, but the patient is no longer required to prick every hour or every meal to obtain current blood glucose levels. In some cases, the sensor can communicate with another new diabetes treatment device, the insulin pump.

On the other hand, type 2 diabetes is caused by a defective pancreas, resulting in an inadequate amount of insulin being produced. Although they are different types of diabetes, natural diabetes treatment can suit both conditions and this form of naturopathy is an alternative medical system which focuses on improving the natural systems in the body.

While for Type 2 diabetes, your body becomes resistant to the insulin produced by the pancreas. It is often linked to genetics, poor eating habit or being overweight. Having a balanced diet, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a crucial part of natural diabetes treatment.

Detoxification – this method requires you to fast for short periods of time or to control your diet to help your body get rid of toxins more easily, thereby helping you control your blood sugar levels better.

Although they are different types of diabetes, natural diabetes treatment can suit both conditions and this form of naturopathy is an alternative medical system which focus on improving the natural systems in the body. In addition, such treatments will improve the body’s ability to heal and maintain itself.

Type 2 Diabetes Treatment – Maintain Normal Blood Sugar Level

Type 2 diabetes is a commonly found chronic disease caused due to improper production or utilization of insulin. Chances for getting type 2 diabetes vary from person to person. Heredity, hypertension and old age are main risk factors of type 2 diabetes. It may cause several negative impacts on life like increased appetite, increased thirst, blurred vision, fatigue and erectile dysfunction. After evaluating symptoms, you can easily verify this disorder by conducting blood tests. Fasting blood glucose level, oral glucose tolerance level and hemoglobin A1c test are some of the best recommended blood tests for verifying type 2 diabetes. Even though diabetes is not fully curable, we can maintain the normal level of blood sugar level in body by following a healthy lifestyle with proper medications. Now let’s see in detail some of the best diabetes treatment for type 2.

Intake of oral medicines is a commonly prescribed diabetes treatment for type 2 helping in maintaining a balanced blood sugar level. At present, there are many oral medicines available at medical stores. Before using oral medicines, it is advised to seek guidance from a physician for knowing your correct dosage level. Sulphonylureas is one among the best used oral diabetic medicines promoting insulin production in pancreas. Release of insulin from beta cells lowers the amount of blood sugar level and reduces the risk of hyperglycemic condition.

You can also intake sulphonylureas with metmorphin for treating type 2 diabetes. Intake of metmorphin reduce the amount of sugar absorbed by intestinal walls, make body cells more sensitive to insulin action and limits the release the glucose from liver to blood stream. It is a perfect solution for those who are suffering from type 2 diabetes due to over weight problems. Acarbose, exenatide, glitazones and gliptins are other common oral medicines suggested` for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Following a healthy diabetic diet is a best recommended type 2 diabetes treatment. Diabetic diet is a blend of nutritive, low caloric value and low cholesterol level food items. Green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, nuts, brown rice, millet, pealed barley and quinoa are main food items included in diabetic diet. While following a diabetic diet, it is advised to intake frequent light meals instead of heavy meals. Potatoes, ghee products, spices and oily fried food items should be avoided. It is also advised to cease the intake of alcohol and processed food items for maintaining a balanced blood sugar level.

Proper exercise is another suggested diabetes treatment for lowering blood sugar level. Doing regular exercises helps in proper functioning of metabolic activities and lowers heightening of blood sugar level. Performing aerobic exercises like walking, jogging, bicycling and swimming helps in promoting over all well being of the person. It reduces over weight, prevents heart diseases, reduces hypertension problems and improves muscle sensitivity towards insulin. Practicing of yoga exercises is another effective type 2 diabetes treatment used for stimulating the functioning of pancreas. Bhramari, surya namaskara, salabha asana and pavanamukta asana are some among the best recommended yogic exercises for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Most of us are taught that we need to go to medical doctors when we get sick. What we aren’t taught is that the real doctor is already within us as the innate wisdom of the body. This is the difference between conventional allopathic systems and natural holistic medicine systems. The philosophy of natural medicine is that, given the right conditions, the body will heal itself. Whereas the allopathic model tries to control defective body systems through drug intervention, or kill foreign invaders with antibiotics, natural medicine rarely includes toxic agents. Instead, herbs, homeopathic remedies and other non-invasive therapies are used. These techniques harmoniously help facilitate the repair and strengthening of bodily systems (especially the immune system, which can then properly fight foreign invaders), or help to destroy offending pathogens without toxic side effects. The goal of natural medicine is to figure out why systems have weakened and then repair them, which results in healing. Type 2 Diabetes Information – Risks and Symptoms

Whether you are someone that has a family history of dealing with diabetes or you are overweight and over the age of 45, it is a good idea to be aware of the Type 2 Diabetes Information that is available and some of the risk factors to watch out for and avoid if possible. Having the right levels of HDL cholesterol is important, as well as making sure not to let your LDL levels get too high. Having high blood pressure is also something that could put you at risk of getting the disease.

Most Diabetes Articles will tell you that genetics play a huge role in the disease. Whether you have a family history of people that have specifically dealt with diabetes or gestational diabetes, it is a good idea to be tested to make sure you don’t have it. If you have Polycystic ovarian syndrome you might have a greater risk of getting the illness, as do those that already deal with some form of impaired tolerance to glucose. Certain ethnicities are also more susceptible to it, such as Native Americans, African Americans, and Hispanic Americans.

Understanding the risks will help you to do what you can to avoid the disease. It’s also very important to recognize the symptoms early on so you can get properly diagnosed in a timely manner. Things like increased urination, blurred vision, fatigue, infections that are frequent and slow to heal, and an increased appetite and thirst all point to Type 2 Diabetes. Another thing to watch out for is Diabetes Weight Gain. Most people that are told they have the disease are overweight when the doctor gives them their diagnosis. Of course, that doesn’t mean that the thin are immune, and many elderly people frequently get the condition as well.

In the end, having a healthy diet and making sure to get exercise to keep your body weight down will go a long way in preventing Type 2 Diabetes. However, genetics can be very hard to contend with sometimes, and that is why it is so important to recognize the risks and symptoms of the disease.

So if you, or someone you know may possibly have Type 2 Diabetes, they should get tested as soon as possible. If you catch diabetes early, you minimize the damage it causes and you make it easier to treat effectively. After you are checked out and begin to treat the cause of your diabetes and not just the symptoms, you will begin to lose your excess weight, have more energy, and generally feel much better. There is a better life for type 2 diabetics than the one they are typically dealing with. Go get treated today, you deserve the best.

Type 2 Diabetes Information For Seniors

Type 2 Diabetes Information For Seniors

Just because seniors and those that are over the age of 40 may not have been diagnosed with diabetes, that doesn’t exactly mean that they may have the symptoms of the disease and not realize it. It is important to get Type 2 Diabetes information to any senior, with or without the disease, so that they are able to understand the effects that type 2 diabetes has on their body. The internet is readily available with all types of information on managing Type 2 Diabetes so that the transition is not difficult. People will continue to suffer until changes to social behaviors are made to our society. Because the ill effects from the disease, which can include blindness, organ damage and failure which culminates to a loss of life, are so serious, we need to take it upon ourselves to aid and inform the elderly.

The majority of people with diabetes need to change their eating habits once they are diagnosed as diabetic. It makes it easier on the body to process the various foods that enter into it. The body is not able to handle the glucose so they are often insulin resistant. By limiting the added sugars in food the body can return to a more normal state.

Once a person has been diagnosed with diabetes they may need medication to keep their glucose levels in check. This can be with medication taken in a pill form or through the use of an insulin shot. The person will also need to have on hand a blood glucose monitor to give them the exact glucose reading at that time. Getting the reading stable and in a normal range over the course of the day helps in managing Type 2 Diabetes.

Another action that helps sufferers of this disease is the addition of regular exercise. There are even some examples of people who have been able to control the disease with exercise alone. If you have not exercised in some time or not on a regular basis you may want to speak with your doctor to discuss how to incorporate regular exercise in your daily routine. It can be as little as 20 to 30 minutes a day. The important thing is to get out there and start moving again. That could be walking your dog, a nice bike ride, or maybe even a round of golf. Once you have the energy to, and in most cases even when you don’t, moving again will help you feel better and drop some of that weight.

Other Diabetes Type 2 Information can be located online, or through medical booklets and brochures at your doctor’s office. By changing your eating habits, exercising regularly, and losing weight in addition to medication you should be able to keep your diabetes under control.

FDA Approves New Type 2 Diabetes Medication

FDA Approves New Type 2 Diabetes Medication

The FDA has approved a new oral diabetes medication, Tradjenta (linagliptin) to help control blood glucose in type 2 diabetics. Tradjenta works by blocking the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), resulting in increased levels of the hormones which stimulate the release of insulin after eating.

Tradjenta was tested in almost 4000 diabetics in eight separate double-blind clinical studies. It was studied both by as a stand-alone therapy, and in combination with other current diabetes medications such as glimepiride, pioglitazone, and metformin. It has not been tested along with insulin injections, and is not recommended for use by insulin dependent type 1 diabetics.

Tradjenta is meant to be used along with diet and exercise. People with diabetic ketoacidosis (high levels of ketones in the blood or urine) are cautioned not to use linagliptin. People taking the antibiotic rifampin, used to treat tuberculosis, should also avoid using Tradjenta. The most commonly reported side effects of linagliptin were nasal congestion or a runny nose, sore throat, upper respiratory infection headache, and muscle pain.

An estimated 24 million Americans have diabetes, and up to 95 percent of them have the most common form, type 2.  People with type 2 diabetes either can’t produce or are resistant to the effects of insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas which regulates blood sugar.  A lack of insulin or insulin resistance lead to high blood sugar levels, which can cause serious, and even life threatening, complications.

Some type 2 diabetics can control their blood sugar with diet and exercise, but many require oral diabetes medication or even insulin injections. The existing diabetes medications Januvia and Onglyza are also DPP-4 inhibitors. While all in the same class, the three diabetes drugs appear to have significant differences in effect, making it important that non insulin dependent diabetics have yet another option to successfully control their blood sugar.

The new diabetes medication is the first of its class to be approved at one dosage strength (5 mg) for all patients, including those with kidney or liver impairment. In another first, the diabetes drug is marketed by an alliance of Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc in Connecticut, and Eli Lilly in Indianapolis.

The author blogs about news and views of interest to diabetics at Long Acting Insulin.com. Alex believes in affordable access to diabetes medication, and recommends Big Mountain Drugs as a reliable Canadian pharmacy from which to buy Januvia and buy Lantus long acting insulin.

Type 2 Diabetes: Tips for a summer of Healthy Cookouts

We are all advised to live healthier lifestyles? Eat more healthily, lose weight, exercise more, stop smoking? And so on. For people who have Type 2 diabetes this advice is an important part of the management of diabetic diet menu. You may be surprised to learn that you actually have the potential to reduce the harmful effects of diabetes, purely by making some changes to your lifestyle.

Every person who has diabetes has difficult problems, which comes from the various degrees of complications that they may be dealing with. Because of the differences, some are able to eat a few more carbs than others. However, the types of foods that you should be avoiding, and those diabetic meals that you should be eating, is going to be the same for every person who is dealing with diabetes.

We focus on the role of diabetic diet and exercise in the management of Type 2 diabetes. In particular, we will take a look at the way in which diet and exercise can improve:

* Blood glucose levels

* Blood fats

* Blood pressure

Blood glucose levels: Blood glucose levels are mainly kept in check by insulin syringes and needles. Type 2 diabetes usually occurs as the result of a combination of problems with insulin activity (insulin resistance) and insulin secretion. Diet and exercise can help to combat both of these problems.

Blood fats: Many people with Type 2 diabetes have unhealthy levels of blood fats? This is commonly referred to as an unhealthy? Lipid profile? Too much of the wrong types of fat in the blood increase the risk of heart disease and circulation problems. Blood fats are mainly kept in check by body fat analyzer. Another important aim of diet and exercise in the management of your diabetes will therefore be to help keep your blood lipid levels normal.

]]>

Blood pressure: Type 2 diabetes is often accompanied by high blood pressure and this increases the risk of diabetic eye and kidney damage, as well as heart disease and circulation problems. Blood fats are mainly kept in check by automatic blood pressure monitor. Regular exercise, eating a low-fat and low-salt diet, and reducing alcohol intake can all help to lower blood pressure.

Nearly everyone knows about the dietary risks of summertime cookouts; the menu tends to be loaded with items that are high in fat, high in calories, and full of grease. # However, there are healthy alternatives that you can include in your next cookout to ensure that your diabetic diet plan stays tasty, but won’t ruin your dietary goals. Here are some healthy food choices to add to your next cookout:

Grill Veggies: Cut veggies, such as peppers and onions, to roughly the diameter of a silver dollar. Dust them with a light layer of extra virgin olive oil and season to taste. Always prefer Low Fat Salad Recipes for diabetes.

Wrap the veggies tinfoil and throw the package on a grill. Cook the veggies alongside your hotdogs and hamburgers for about 20 minutes, or until the veggies are tender and hot.

Mayo-free Potato Salad: Not all potato salads diabetic recipes require mayonnaise. In fact, without the mayo, potato salads can be quite healthy and incorporate not only a healthy dose of carbohydrates, but also onions, celery, oils, and dairy. Check online for mayo-free potato salad recipes that suit your taste buds.

Full-Fruit Popsicles or Ices: Instead of offering ice cream or another high fat, high sugar dessert, plan ahead and make your own full-fruit popsicles or ices. Simply freeze any flavor of 100% fruit juice in an appropriately sized and shaped container, add small fruit chunks, and serve. You can find Popsicle trays in just about any grocery store.

Limit the Alcohol: Most people enjoy having a summertime beverage, such as a margarita, daiquiri, or even a simple beer during a cookout.
However, many fancy drinks are loaded with sugar that is not healthy for Diabetics.

While a splurge may not hurt every now and then (as long as you monitor your blood sugar level), it is always a good idea to have low-sugar alternatives such as sugar free candy and low fat desserts. One of the best low-sugar alcohol beverages is rum and diet coke.

The Right Melons: Watermelons are classic cookout favorites. However, watermelons are notorious for having loads of sugar and calories in them.

In fact, one slice can pack as much as 80 calories. Instead of serving watermelon wedges at your next cookout, opt instead for honeydew or cantaloupe.

Type 2 Diabetes Treatment – Know About the Plan to Follow

Type 2 Diabetes Treatment – Know About the Plan to Follow

Type 2 Diabetes is the most common form of Diabetes. Although this is a chronic disease that can lead to other more serious, and sometimes life-threatening illnesses and diseases, there are Type 2 Diabetes treatments that work successfully in the prevention and management of the disease.

Type 2 Diabetes Treatment

Type 2 Diabetes treatment requires a life-long commitment. The goal of a Type 2 Diabetes treatment plan is to control the blood sugar level in your body and to help make the cells in your body less resistant to insulin. If you are diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, or even if you are at a higher risk of the onset of the illness, it is important that you begin a Type 2 Diabetes treatment and prevention plan as soon as possible. A successful Type 2 Diabetes treatment plan will involve monitoring your blood sugar level as well as doing things that will minimize the onset of symptoms.

If you have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, the first step in your Type 2 Diabetes treatment plan is educating yourself and learning as much as you can about the prevention and management of the disease. The disease is a chronic, life-long disease that can result in the onset of more serious and sometimes life-threatening illnesses, such as heart disease and stroke.

There are certain things that can cause changes in your blood sugar levels. These include foods, lack of physical activity, medications, other illnesses, consumption of alcohol, stress, and fluctuation in hormone levels experienced by women during the menstrual cycle. Knowing the factors that can contribute to changes in your blood sugar levels and monitoring your blood sugar levels on a regular basis can help to greatly reduce the risks of increased blood sugar levels.

An extremely important part of a Type 2 Diabetes treatment program is healthy diet. There are many foods that contribute to the increase in blood sugar levels, and while it may not be necessary to completely avoid these foods, it is necessary to balance these foods with a healthy diet of that is high in nutrition and low in fat. A healthy diet should include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole-grain foods. Not only will a healthy diet give you more energy and an overall good feeling, but a healthy diet combined with a regular exercise regimen can help to eliminate obesity, one of the leading factors in the onset of Type 2 Diabetes.

Regular exercise along with a healthy diet can help to prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 Diabetes symptoms. Regular exercise helps to maintain your muscles, cardiovascular system, and nervous system – all of which work together to make your cells less resistant to the insulin that your body creates naturally.

For some people, a Type 2 Diabetes treatment plan that includes a healthy diet, regular exercising, and close monitoring of blood sugar levels may not be enough to prevent the disease from worsening and causing the onset of more serious complication. In these cases, your physician may recommend that your Type 2 diabetes plan include medications or insulin therapy. Before you begin a treatment that involves medication, be sure to discuss with your physician any possible side effects and any interactions with other drugs or foods that may occur.

Lifelong Commitment

A successful Type 2 Diabetes treatment plan requires a lifetime commitment that involves leading a healthy lifestyle, monitoring blood sugar levels, and working to prevent or delay any serious complications that may be caused by Type 2 Diabetes. As with most anything that you embark on in life, education is going to be the key to your success. And, in the case of Type 2 Diabetes, the saying “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” is right on spot. Type 2 Diabetes is a disease that can be prevented by leading a healthy lifestyle as early in life as possible. Not only does this decreases the risk of contracting Type 2 Diabetes, but decreases your risk of many other illnesses that may be more serious and life threatening. Remember, healthy is as healthy does.
